Almost 18 percent of Cambodia’s population is under the poverty line. LEAP Project will help improve livelihoods for urban poor and vulnerable households in 13 Sangkats in Phnom Penh. Women and unemployed youth will have opportunities to access business support services, skills training, operation, and management of livelihood activities. Those include food processing, handicraft making, off-site garment factory sewing/dressmaking, cosmetology services, Tuk Tuk driver, etc.
Women who have traditionally had limited financial independence and low social standing are lifting themselves from poverty and becoming role models for other women and girls in their families and communities.
